Center for Sportfishing Policy Welcomes New Members, Prepares for D.C. Fly-in Next Week

Washington, D.C. – May 2, 2018 – The Center for Sportfishing Policy (CSP) is honored to welcome six new members: 3A Composites; FLIR Maritime (Raymarine); Garmin; Owens Corning; Southeast Building Solutions, and Yellowfin. CSP thanks them for their support of its efforts to maximize opportunity for saltwater recreational anglers.

CSP is the nation’s leading advocate for saltwater recreational anglers. The Center organizes, focuses and engages recreational fishing stakeholders to shape federal marine fisheries management policies.

Next week, May 9 – May 11, 2018, CSP will host its annual fly-in “Center Focus on Washington,” where recreational anglers and boaters participate in critical discussions with key policymakers over a two-day meeting on Capitol Hill. As in years past, CSP is co-locating Center Focus with the American Boating Congress (ABC) hosted by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).

Key issues for ABC and Center Focus participants: Passing the Modern Fish Act to fix the Magnuson-Stevens Act; Ensuring robust public access to federally managed waters; Building on the successes of this Administration to relieve frustrations of anglers including red snapper management fixes; Reforming the renewable fuel standard; and many others.
